
Chowder Trail Prize Draws Official Contest Rules
CONTEST PERIOD
In order to be eligible for Chowder Trail prizing, you must have a minimum of 3 stamps on your passport as of midnight on December 15, 2023. Grand Prize draws will be made on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 and winners will be notified no later than Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Chowder Trail (Sponsor) contest begins at 12:00pm Atlantic Standard Time (AST) on Saturday, April 1, 2023 and all eligibility for prizing concludes at 11:59 pm (AST) December 15, 2022 (the contest period). Entries received after the contest period shall be disqualified. Draw will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 4:00pm AST and winners will be notified by Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Prizes must be redeemed by February 14, 2025.
TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. By having an official ‘Chowder Trail Passport’ with at least 3 (three) check-ins and providing your name and email address during the contest period, participants are eligible to win. Once a ‘Chowder Trail Passport’ has been used to check-in to the requisite number of trail stops, upload photos of your stamped passport at www.novascotiachowdertrail.com or follow the prompts if completing a digital passport. To win, you will be asked to correctly answer a skill testing mathematical question.
PRIVACY
Contest sponsor will be collecting personal data about you (name, address, email address and daytime phone number) for purposes of advising contest winners.
Contest winners must also be willing to be named in social media posts announcing prize winners.
LIMIT
One entry per person.
PRIZES
- CHOWDER ENTHUSIAST (10 stamps or more): Collection of $25 gift certificates from select participating Chowder Trail stops. (Value of $500 or more in gift cards)
- CHOWDER LOVER (5 stamps or more): $100 to a Taste of Nova Scotia seafood retailer of your choice to make your own seafood chowder.
- CHOWDER CONNOISSEUR (3 stamps or more): A locally made chef’s knife, cutting board and Taste of Nova Scotia apron.
All prizes may be subject to change based on availability. All taxes, fees, surcharges on prizes and gratuities are the sole responsibility of the winner(s).
PRIZE REDEMPTION
Prizes must be used by February 15, 2025. No cash awards will be provided in lieu of prizes. All prizes are non-transferable. ODDS OF WINNING DEPEND ON THE NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE ENTRIES RECEIVED. A minimum of 20,000 and a maximum of 100,000 entries will be printed, depending on prize sponsor participation in promoting the contest. Winner must execute and return an affidavit of eligibility/release of liability and publicity within ten (10) days of notification. Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification, and an alternate winner will be selected.
WINNER SELECTION
Grand Prize winner(s) will be determined by a random drawing conducted by the Taste of Nova Scotia on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 4:00 pm Atlantic Standard Time (AST) from the eligible entries during the Contest Period.
Taste of Nova Scotia’s decisions as to all matters related to the administration of the contest and selection of winners are final. Entrants selected must comply will all terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. The potential winner will be notified by e-mail. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within TEN (10) days after the first attempt to contact such potential winner, an alternate entrant will be selected in his or her place at random from all of the remaining eligible entries. Please note, Taste of Nova Scotia allows an additional 4-6 weeks processing time following the claiming of gift cards to ensure gift cards have been obtained from all participating trail stops.
AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES
Participation in the contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these official rules. By entering the contest, each declared winner consents to the use of his/her name, and photograph for publicity, promotion or advertising purposes, in all media and formats used by the Chowder Trail and Taste of Nova Scotia, without further compensation, throughout the world in perpetuity. By entering, participants release and hold harmless the Chowder Trail and Taste of Nova Scotia, their members, directors, officers, employees, agents, professional advisors, promotional and marketing agencies and their prize sponsors, from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or receipt or use of any prize.
ELIGIBILITY
Contest is open to anyone aged 19 years or more, except employees (and immediate family and household members of such employees) of Chowder Trail businesses, Taste of Nova Scotia, their directors, officers, employees, agents, professional advisors, promotional and marketing agencies and their prize sponsors. In these Official Rules, “immediate family” means spouse, domestic partner, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mother and father, mother-in-law, and father-in-law.
RELEASES
By entering this contest, entrants confirm that they have read and understood these Rules. Entrant also agrees, should they become the eligible winner, that they will sign a Declaration of Compliance with the Rules, and a release form releasing the Chowder Trail, Taste of Nova Scotia, directors, officers, employees, agents, professional advisors, promotional and marketing agencies and their prize sponsors from any and all claims or liability of any kind arising from or in connection with this contest or a prize, including without limitation, claims or liability in connection with the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize as awarded. All documents must be completed and returned within the period noted on those documents or the prizes may be forfeited.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
This contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. All contests are void where prohibited by law.
The Chowder Trail/Taste of Nova Scotia reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest if fraud or any other factor impairs the integrity of the contest as determined by the company in its sole discretion.
The Chowder Trail and Taste of Nova Scotia assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, or postal service disruption that delays receipt of entries.
