  • The Townhouse Brewpub & Eatery

The Townhouse is a cozy, bustling community supported pub in the heart of downtown Antigonish. Our focus is Nova Scotian craft beer, and fresh, rustic, local food of excellent quality. We have 9 taps of NS microbrews, including 2 of our own ales brewed on site - Terry's Best Bitter, cask-conditioned, and served on a traditional hand pump, and Terry’s Dry Irish Stout, on nitrogen on the creamer faucet. We also feature local spirits, 9 wines by the glass, local oysters, and daily specials. We source all our beef, pork, and lamb, from a local family run butchers shop, free range chicken, rabbit and duck from small scale Antigonish County farmers, seafood from Halifax based sustainable fishmonger, Afishianado, and local lobster fishermen/oyster producers – and feature local produce from several small-scale market gardeners in season. Our kitchen makes all our dishes, right down to the breads, desserts, patés, pickles, dressings, and chutneys from scratch, in house. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and genuine. Although inspired by the traditional neighbourhood pubs of the UK and Ireland, the Antigonish community and our wonderful regulars give the pub it's real colour. Thursday nights we feature live jazz, and Sunday nights we offer a Sunday Roast and an excellent Irish traditional music session.
