Restaurant de la Marine (Fortress of Louisbourg Association)

Dine in the quaint atmosphere of Restaurant de la Marine. Surrounded by period-inspired architecture and hand-crafted reproduction furniture, you’ll feel like you are eating in the 18th Century. Your servers are “residents” of the town, complete with period costume, and will invite you to taste the past.

Our chowder is prepared daily using fresh local Nova Scotia seafood. Baked lobster shells are the base for our stock with the finest haddock, shrimp, and clams as our main ingredients for this creamy chowder. Top it off with a garnishment of local mussels and a lobster claw. Your fresh chowder is accompanied with the Fortress of Louisbourg’s very own King’s bread, made fresh daily in the 18th Century-inspired stone ovens on-site.
